How to wash your hair extensions properly?
How to take care of the hair extensions? So we thought it was necessary that we answer everything you need to know about our hair extensions, starting with how to wash your hair when you have hair extensions such as hair100 hair weaves.
Step 1
Carefully de-tangle your hair before washing from ends to roots to remove loose hairs and avoid tangled.
Step 2
Use a mild shampoo on your scalp and hair, taking care not to rub – use a downwards stroking motion. We recommend using shampoo without extra function such as colour protecting, hair shinnying and so on, since some of the extra material may damage the hair extensions and make them feel dry easily.
Step 3
Rinse your hair to remove shampoo, and apply moisturising conditioner to your hair. You can use more conditioner on hair extensions than on your natural hair, because it’s harder for them to get greasy. Only apply conditioner on the mid to end lengths rather than the areas where the extensions are attached. And then give your hair a good rinse and make sure you get all the products out of your hair.
Step 4
After washing, gently squeeze out any excess water and pat dry with towel (do not rub and twist). Never brush or comb your hair when they are still wet!
Step 5
Set and dry the hair extension naturally and avoid using hair dryer on hot heat. Finally, comb through the hair extensions with a wide toothcomb when dry.
PS. For those using clip in hair extensions, you should only need to wash them after you have worn them roughly 4-6 times or when they become oily from a build up of products in them, since hair extensions don’t have the supply of oils and nutrients as our growing hair has, you don’t need to wash them as often as our natural hair does.
